Administrative reorganisation of Social Security
The law of 13 May 2008, which entered into force on 1st January 2009 introduced a uniform statute for all employees in the private sector in Luxembourg and led to an administrative restructuring of social security. Thus were created:
· the National Health Fund (CNS), by merging the existing sickness funds, including the agricultural sickness fund (CMA),
· the National Pension Insurance Fund (CNAP), by merging the existing pension funds, including the agricultural pension fund (CPA).
As from 1st January 2009 Luxembourg, one of the founding members of the ENASP network, does not have anymore an autonomous agricultural social protection system for farmers. Therefore, according to the internal rules, Luxembourg new social security structure doesn’t meet anymore the criteria for full ENASP membership.
This is why, in view of its contribution to the works since the network’s creation, and in respect of ENASP internal rules, ENASP welcomes since 1st January 2009 an observer expert from Luxembourg who participates to common works and meetings.
