Agricultural Social Security: Representative's Assembly decides LSV-framework

In March 2009, a new step was done in the organizational reform of the German Agricultural Social Insurance. The representatives of the Head Association of Social Security in Agriculture unanimously decided in their meeting of 25 March 2009 a binding framework for the implementation of the Act to modernize the law of the agricultural social security (LSVMG).  The concept clarifies the law by the newly regulated task-bundling at the Head Association. It was previously comprehensively discussed in the boards of the self-administration.

Parts of this concept, such as centralized management and control of information technology, recourse and public administration, are already under implementation.

For the chairman of the board of the Head Association of Social Security in Agriculture, Leo Blum, there has been given a political signal with the decision of the developed concept. The self-administration is able to act and the policies were implemented. Moreover, according to Blum, "we are now better adapted to the structural change in agriculture and we are able to respond". Moreover, the administrative costs will decline on a medium-term basis, which leads to a stability of contributions.
